Our Story:
History, Vision, Mission

ECC, Empowering Communities for Change, is a registered, Shariah-compliant nonprofit society whose vision is to primarily provide education, special needs management, women’s healthcare, community welfare and rehabilitation to local communities. Donations to ECC are used to provide assistance and relief to some of the most marginalized individuals in Pakistan.
ECC’s philosophy is that behind each individual is a family and a community that needs our support. The ultimate aim and vision of ECC is to incorporate community-based rehabilitation into our sustainable community development programs.

History

ECC is a joint effort of like-minded professionals who combined their resources, community service activities and charitable efforts to make a difference, over two decades ago. After years of effort and constant work, Empowering Communities for Change came to fruition. The goal is to be able to make long-term plans, so that there is a noticeable difference in education, food provision, women's health, disability support and employment opportunities to bring about social change. The firm belief of this organization is that for the betterment of our society, change should start from within

Mission

ECC, Empowering Communities for Change, is a registered nonprofit society. Our primary goal is to uplift the lives of underprivileged communities through education, women’s health and hygiene, and community welfare and rehabilitation. We at ECC also extend fundraising initiatives and sponsorship to welfare organizations that require support. Our philosophy is that behind each individual is a family and a community that needs sustenance for their livelihood.

Vision

The future vision of the ECC is to incorporate education, women’s health and welfare, and community-based rehabilitation into our sustainable community development programs, which includes patronage to:

  1. Ration Bank (RB-ECC), in collaboration with HELP, to the communities in Khuda ki Basti
  2. Women and Children’s Community Centre (WCC-ECC), a vocational training and community centre as well as an early childhood educational centre
  3. Digital Literacy Centre (DLC-RCC), a centre to train individual's to find, evaluate, and communicate information using information and digital media platforms
  4. Dar-ul-Khushnud (DUK-ECC), an educational facility and training centre for mentally and physically handicapped children and adults
